Dh's maternity leave!!

When dd was born dh planned to take 2 weeks off work. After I had ds I was back up and going within 2 weeks so I figured I'd bounce back just the same. Unfortunatly I didn't and he had to take another 2 weeks off. He is allowed 3 months through FMLA but it is unpaid. I told him this time we'd try for 2 weeks again but 3 would be ideal. He came home and said he was taking a solid 4 weeks off and then take either Monday or Friday for a few weeks after that so we have long weekends still. I was so excited!! Trying to get dh to take time off work is like pulling teeth. He is a boss and thinks the office can't run without him (he's partially correct). He does have 4 weeks vacation time built up but likely we will try to only use 2 and have the other 2 not paid. My dh is so helpful so having him home is better than having a mom or someone come help. Now I really can't wait!!

Oh, that is great - DH took of about 3 weeks with DS (only 2 days with DD) - we went through FMLA, but luckily he has so much time built up that we didn't miss any pay (he gets like 7 weeks of personal/sick/vacation time)...honestly though, I was SO ready for him to go back to work by the time the 3 weeks were up!
