making old woolies work for PLing :)

last winter both DH & I were working and making pretty good money so DD had a FABULOUS winter woolie stash, she has started PLing (and doing AWESOME BTW) but we ran into the problem that she could not get her woolies down because of the drawstring. With me not working we can't afford to replace them with curly-purly or elastic waistbanded woolies and I was so sad that I would have to sell off our favorites in order to get some she could get up & down by herself. But yesterday I was at home, organizing my sewing room and was folding some elastic and it hit me....

pull out the drawstrings and replace them with elastic

yes you can see the elastic, but only if you lift her shirt and I put the drawstrings safely away to pull out next year when DD no longer fits her woolies and they are ready to be sold

lol, I am just so excited to not have to replace her gorgeous woolies I ordered too big to get a couple years use out of

can I ask if you are using trainers or just cotton panties? Are you having a problem with saggy butt due to the higher rise for diapers??? I am going to put dd in wool even after she potty learns but I think I may have to reknit them with a shorter rise because they absolutely sag like crazy on her tush when she's got panties on(I'm SO ready for her to potty learn).
