Sigh. It's dinner time again. Any ham recipes?

Kroger has 10 for 10 on tuna-can sized cans of ham... so I picked up a bunch...

NOW.. supper is 45 minutes away... anyone got any ideas? Ive never actually used canned ham... but I was buying it to put away for things like split pea soup come winter...

Anyone?

Re: Sigh. It's dinner time again. Any ham recipes?

Coming from a miltary "cooks" house, SOS is the best thing to make with ham. (translated so it doesn't sound so bad. Creamied ham on toast.)

Another recipe that my kids love is ham/chicken/broccoli casserole. (Ham, chicken, broccoli (frozen or fresh), 2 cans of either cream of chicken or the cheese cream one (I use cream of chicken), mayo and a few other things.) Cooks in 30 minutes and I serve with mashed potatoes. Enough for 2-3 meals depending on how many. Best part, it's a throw together with leftovers. My kids love this one since the broccoli turns out nice and cheesy.

My father use to fry canned ham for us when we were little and served with mac&cheese

Cheddar cheese soup (broccoli, ham and cheese)

Re: Sigh. It's dinner time again. Any ham recipes?

chicken cordon blue cassarole

boneless skinless chiken cut into bite sized peices,
probably 2 cans of ham, about half the amount of chicken
any white chease, i mix swiss and mozeralla
bread crumbs, about 3/4 cup

get a 10x13 cassarole dish, (clear or tinted is best) layer in order, raw chicken, ham, chease then lightly sprincle bread crumbs, be sure you can still see spots of chease or the bread crumbs will make too salty. bake on 350 for about 20-30 min. until chicken is fully cooked. if you have a top heating element cover with alunium foil. searve with a cheasy pasta. we like the shells and white chedder by i think lipton??

Bobby Flay just had a mac&cheese throwdown on Food Network. . . you could copy his recipe (lots of cheese, butter, milk/cream) and add the ham!
