Re: What do you (or your LO) call nursing?

Ninny with my last one because that was what my girlfriend called it & I really liked the sound of it, esp in public. Before that I dried up when my other kids were around 4 months & a kid word for it never came up.

ROFL.

One of our LLL leaders called it "nurse" w/ her kids, and they'd ask for it at the grocery store, and if she wanted to delay she'd say something like "There are no nurses here... we have to go to a hospital to see a nurse." lol

As for us, I call it nurse here and there, but mostly I try to call it good stuff, like "Do you want some good stuff? Are you getting some good stuff?" Or the short form "Is it good?" Like others, I can hardly wait until she's talking and can make up a word for it herself.

I think it's just the cutest thing. Of course, my 5.5yo is all grumpy because he came up with something different all on his own.
Okay, that is just too cute!

I'm very boring. I call it nursing, eating, drinking milk. My baby is 5 months, so these are really the things I say when talking to my other children about it or anyone else for that matter.

Re: What do you (or your LO) call nursing?

We just say "nurse" or "eat," as in, "Do you need to eat?" or "Do you want to nurse?" Or in the middle of the night it's, "Ok Ok we'll nurse already!" Now that we are starting solids, it's more just using the word nurse. My 6 mo DD doesn't have a word for it yet, but my 5 yr DS says that "she's eating or nursing."
Then there's the "I think you need to feed her."
She'll come up with some terribly cute (and hopefully tasteful) variation of these.

We call it "babymilk" although it usually comes out in babytalk to sound more like "BB-mi-oak".

It was only mildly embarrasing to walk past the lingerie section of Kohls and have DD#1 point at the bras and shout out "Babymilks!" repeatedly back when she was a little over a year old.

We say ninnies around here. We had a friend that called it that with her dd and my husband though it was funny and started telling me Elizabeth "needs some ninnies" when he brought her to me. So the name stuck.

Elizabeth will also lift up my shirt and grab at my chest. If I'm wearing anything that shows any cleavage or anything, she just cracks up. Like she thinks it's so funny that her food source is showing.

"Mommy Yum-Yums" is what we call it here. Dd used to just make this horribly annoying boo hooing sound when she wanted to nurse. So, I tried to teach her to say yum-yums as I'd been calling it since day 1. Unable to get that "y" sound out, she says, "ummm-ummm". And, now that she's quite the talker, its "ummm -ummm . . . . side, other side!"

Seamus just starts singing, 'na-na-na-na-na-na-' and climbs onto my lap.
