We went to a few garage sales. I found an Usborne book, and a book on tape. Got them for $1.75. The book on tape was There were 10 in a bed..., originally $10 so I thought I did pretty good with that since they sold it for .75cents.

I actually sold some stuff at a yard sale today and made $23, $4 of which went into the change jar. I wish I made more, but I am happy

Cool! I bet it felt good to clear your house out a bit! I am doing one next week. I hope to not bring anything back inside my house.

Re: To my fellow garage salers

There weren't that many today...only 11 advertised so if you get to them even an hour after they start, things are picked over somewhat. However, I tend to search for items that most people don't go to yard sales for. I didn't find alot today but my most exciting purchase was 9 cloth napkins for $2. I've been working on going to cloth to cut down almost completely on paper towel usage so I was excited to get my stash going this morning.

A Thomas Wooden Railway set is what I wanted to get DS for Christmas. We could have had a table and complete set, with lots of engines, for what it will probally cost us for a very basic set with just the Thomas engine.

We were so close.

That's a bummer! But keep checking your local CraigsList! I have seen Thomas table sets several times the past few weeks, usually about $50!!!
