Last time I CDed, I stuck with AIOs and pockets. But now I'm considering coming back with CPFs and covers. However, I'm a little stumped. What size CPFs would I need if I'm using them as lay ins inside covers? DD is 13 months old and nearly 27lbs. I was thinking premiums would be good (that although she's almost big enough for toddlers, they're probably too long anyway) but what are your thoughts?

Re: What size PFs for lay ins?
I would try out a Premium first to see how it works. If you find they're too bulky you can always trim them.

I would go with a regular. Afterall,if you trifold it you'll get 14 layers with a regular and that should be enough for most babies.

Re: What size PFs for lay ins?
I think you may be fine with infants since they don't need to go around the baby, just in the cover. Less bulk and just as many layers as regular. I use infants in my mediums covers and even though we are switching to regulars for snappi'ing I am keeping the infants for tri-folding. HTH!

I'd say infants...unless you're okay with trimming the premiums. A premium will be longer than the cover.

LOL, a different answer from every person.
Will the infants or regulars be absorbant enough if I go with them?

I think premiums would be fine.
I really only use infant and premium sizes. PS...Hi! I remember you from the old board but dont think I've "run into" you over here. HAHA

Re: What size PFs for lay ins?
I'd probably go with premiums (I've never used regulars since my kids are extremely heavy wetters). I have toddler size and use them, but have to use snappis since they are so much longer and won't fit trifolded in a cover.

Re: What size PFs for lay ins?
I researched it a bit more and saw pictures of babies her size in covers with prefolds layed in on greenmountaindiaper.com - I've decided to go with premiums. DD is a pretty heavy wetter so I do have to take that into consideration as well.
Thanks for your help! I'm looking forward to getting back into cloth! Carrie - I remember you, too! A lot of new faces here but it's nice to see a familiar one!

![]() maybe you could get by with infants but I think it would be pushing it on the length. They are only like 14" rise i think ......
