How Many Yrds Of Fabric In A Moby???

I want to get a Moby but am a size 16 gal that is 5' 8". I am just wondering how many yards of fabric there are? I made a DIY wrap out of gauze fabric and love it, but I cut it to short! Ughh. I initially bought 7 yrds of fabric and mis-measured and I "think" I have a/b 5 yrds. (I'm a newbie) I was thinking of sewing the other fabric on to the ends. Anyway.....I want to get a regular Moby so bad, but I want to make sure it'll work for a (sort of) big mama. I have a 27 toddler right now, but we are TTC so I think this would rock for a NB!

Mobys are 5 yards, which is 4.6 meters.

Google says a Moby is 18 feet (6 yards)? or go with what the previous poster says! They are "one size fits all" so some people have some serious extra tails leftover when they tie.

There's a nice size chart at http://gypsymama.com/sizing.htm that will tell you how long a wrap you need based on your clothing size and height.

I just got mine in the mail yesterday. It's LOTS of material! But once it's all wrapped around me properly, there's just a tad left Im a 16-18 and I just have enough room.

If you've already done a DIY gauze, try it with interlock. It's super easy...no sewing required. Just don't cut if short this time, lol.

Im a comftably size 14,I find moby fit just right. not lots of extras.

I made a no sew wrap from interlock. I was at the fabric store windding the fabric around myself,tha staff looked at me like I was crazy. I bought 6 yards and its way more than my 5'3" 160# needs.

My husband is 235# and wears our Moby just fine He just ties it in the back, vs. tying in the front which is fine and safe. The Moby you buy has the ends somewhat tapered....... maybe to about half the materials width, but I'd have to check to be sure. I think they say they do that to make tying it easier, so you may want to consider doing that. Also, the Moby D is a little less material so it ties on the side, also an option if your ends don't come out quite even.

A moby is 6 yds long. Each additional yard is $10.

No worries, I am 5'6" and a size 22, size 40H chest...the Moby fits FINE. My dh is 5'11" and a size XXL and it fits him fine too.

We just tie it in the back and don't have tons of extra material hanging - but there is PLENTY to do all the positions you can think of.

It is GREAT for when you have a newborn and you just want to walk around the house half naked...no shirt, no bra, just a Moby and your baby.
