Measuring Small

Has anyone measured small and still have an average (7/8lb) sized baby. I never remembered what I measured with dd so I cant compare to last pregnancy but I know I was bigger than I am now. She was a 40 weeker, 8lbs 3oz. I am 35 weeks and am measuring 32 1/2, at my last app. I was measuring 32 at 33 1/2 weeks. So now I'm being told, small baby. Has anyone measured small and still had a good sized baby?

Re: Measuring Small

Are u sure about your dates?? You could just be off and that is why. My GF ended up delivering almost 3 wks late and had a 7lb baby and figured out they were off on their dates.
My cousin was measuring small the whole time likeu are saying and had aperfectly healthy baby (now 3 yrs old). She was small, 5lb, and had to wear preemie clothes even thought she was a 40 weeker.
I wouldnt worry, momma. As long as the Dr says everything looks ok, just measuring small i think u are doin ok

Re: Measuring Small

I measured small with all my kiddos and had small babies. My first was born at 40 weeks and he was 6 lbs 1 oz. My middle was born at 37 weeks and weighed 5 lbs 9 oz. My third was born at 34 weeks and weighed 6 lbs 9 oz. So he was big for 34 weeks and I did measure small too.

Re: Measuring Small

They never mentioned it with my first but at my appt before last it they said I was this pregancy. I think the US revealed I am only 6 days behind so thats not bad. My first was 7lbs 11 oz and this one at 37wks was at 7lbs 5 oz. I don't know if that helps though as I am clueless about sizing and all that stuff .

Re: Measuring Small

I measured small with all 3 of my girls. I was told that I'd have 6lb or less babies. They were 6, 7, and 7lb 1oz, full term. I guess I just hide them well!

Re: Measuring Small

I measured right on with my first, 7lbs 11oz at 40wks 5 days, then measured small with #2 and she was 6lbs at 39wks 2 days.

Perfectly healthy, just a little smaller. I even gained about the same amount of weight with both.

Eat well, drink plenty of fluids for the amiotic fluid and try not worry!

Re: Measuring Small

I measured small all during my pregnancy with Lulu and she was born at 34weeks(due to other medical complications) weighing in at 5lbs 3oz, so actually a bigger 34weeker. Most 34weekers are just about 4 1/2-5lbs. So she was a good size even with me measuring small. Maybe it's just the way they sit??? With this one I was measuring a week ahead and then 3 weeks behind, etc etc etc. It changes constantly and I think it's just because she moves SO stinkin' much that my uterus changes with her.

Re: Measuring Small

I measured small with my first. The dr told me she would be 5 or 6lbs at the most. She weighed 7lbs.13ozs at birth though.

Re: Measuring Small

I measured small with both of my girls. With my last pregnancy, at 40 weeks + 3 days, I measured 34 weeks. My dr. said my dd would be around 6 lbs...when she was born, she weighed 8 lbs even. With my first dd, I also measured small, was told that she *might* be 5 1/2 lbs, if I was lucky, she was born the next day, at 7 lbs 8 oz.

Re: Measuring Small

Yes. I usually measured 1-2 weeks behind and my ds was 8-5 and my dd was 7-12. I was told (2 days before ds was born) that he would be about 7lbs...
