Tums....it's all I ever think about!

Goodness...I NEVER had heartburn w/ my DD's pregnancy and this time, I'm scared to go anywhere if I don't have some tums with me! I'm sure I'm close to that 10 tums a day thing....

Must be because I'm having a boy.

I had two girls and was the same way with both of them. I think my oldest was my worst though.

Re: Tums....it's all I ever think about!

I know what you mean. I've had that with most of my pregnancies. I heard that the old wives tale about the more heartburn you have the more hair your baby will be born with is true. I guess the same hormone that causes heartburn also causes hair growth in the baby. I believe it. I had heartburn with all of mine and they all had hair. I lived on tums with my second one and he had as much hair then as he does now!!

I've had horrible heartburn this time. It was so bad I could hardly eat in the evenings. My ob wrote my a prescription for Pepcid and it has been a lifesaver. It is a miracle drug.

I haven't had any problems yet but I do remember with my 2nd I would hide a baggy of tums tcked under the sheet of my bed on the edege so that the oldest wouldnt' find them and also as a result of no bedside table.

Did you know that there was just a study about the old wives tale about if you have heartburn then your baby will have lots of hair??? And they found that there is actualy a link! Apparently whatever causes heartburn also causes hairgrowth! jsut thought it was pretty cool!

Zantac, it's the only thing that keeps me being able to eat and feeling almost normal. I'm hoping as the 1st trimester winds down, I won't need it anymore. Only 4 more weeks of the 1st trimester to go!
