Transport rate?

The transport rate of the homebirth midwife I talked to was that good? Bad? Decent? It seemed pretty good to me. She also said that since this is my second baby its likely that I would do it at home because usually the second baby is easier etc etc....

Re: Transport rate?

My midwife is 12% and that was "lower" for my area. This was also on her site, for midwife run birth centers (not hospital run, etc.).

From the National Birth Center Study

Percentage of women who transfer out of care for medical reasons before labor: 10%

Percentage of women who transfer during labor or after birth: 15.8%

Percentage of babies requiring hospital care after birth at the birth center: 1%

Percentage of Cesarean births: 4.4%

Percentage of women who would choose a birth center birth with her next baby or recommend it to a friend or family member: 98%
