POTTY SEATS!! Help quick!!! I need to buy one. Musical potty?

I'm thinking of buying this from shutterbugmom

Anyone have one? What do you think?

What potty chairs have others had that they/kids love?

That's the one we have. I like that it has a fake toilet paper roll, flush handle, etc. so DD goes thru the process of using it. She has some difficulty raising the lid (it sometimes falls onto her as she's sitting.) but my biggest complaint is the infrared sensor it has. When something passes into the potty, it says 'You went potty! Let's get the toilet paper.' The prob with this is A: DD has a tiny tushie and despite never having actually GONE potty on it, it tells her she's all done just from sitting down. B: what if they have more than just one stream--it tells them to wipe when they maybe have more to do.
It's a little loud for my tastes, but DD does enjoy the songs (sadly I have them memorized).
That sensor is the one thing that would make me not buy it again if I had it to do all over again.

Kinda like the sensors on the automatic flush toilets that always FLUSH on me before I'm done. HATE that!!

Anybody else?

What about taking the batteries out? Still cool that way?

It has an on-off switch, so that's not a problem. I guess, beyond the electronic aspects, it'd work just fine. Seems like a lot of people rave over the simple Bjorn potty...

We are thinking of getting one too. A friend suggested one that has a seat that can be put on the regular toilet too to modify it for the LO. We are going to get one this weekend.

RUN from this potty right now...RUN RUN RUN away. Its horrible!!! It always tells ds that 'hurray, You've gone to the potty" when he hasn't done a darn thing. He can flip the switch in the back and turn it on when I turn it off. And he is always opening and closing the lid just to see the light go on and off. I HATE this potty. I let him pick his own out and I wish I didn't. I think its more detrimental than encouraging, esp. for the little ones just starting to toilet learn.

Geez thanks a lot guys.

We never put the batteries in and ds loved it because it looked like a 'big potty.'

We have a baby bjorn potty and a potty ring that goes over a regular toilet. We will soon be buying the potty that folds to look like a briefcase from one step ahead for d1's fear of public toilets. I LOVE the baby bjorn. It's great for smaller/younger kids because their feet can touch the ground whereas they can't on some others, it puts them in a natural position for going #2, and a has a non skid bottom so it doesn't slide around. Also, I didn't look at the picture too closely, but make sure it has a removable bowl for easy cleaning...not all of them do. All that being said, I think that one is cute, but I would definitely take the batteries out.
