Wool & prefolds

I was wondering, those of you who use primarily wool and prefolds, how many soakers & pf's do you have? (I just got 3 sweaters from good will and can't wait to make them into soakers!)

2/3 of the time I use wool and pfs or fitteds. I have a dozen pfs and about a dozen fitteds. I have about 4 or 5 shorties, 1 soaker...I don't dig soakers as much...we use soakers at night and shorties during the day. I am going to make some recycled longies and crocheted ones to get ready for fall and nighttime.

HAve fun making your soakers. Show em to us when you are done.

What's the difference in soaker and shorties? Is it just the length of the legs? (Like longies?)

Re: Wool & prefolds

i think soooo

and to your first question I think i have too many soakers now and not enough prefolds so I have been hunting wool covers to trifold my infant prefolds in

I have read though that around 5 are enough for 24 hrs but I'd say only if you have a really great dipe or you change your bebe really often because they have to dry out in between uses

Re: Wool & prefolds

soakers dont have legs they only cover the diaper. shorties usually have a 2-3in leg on them! and longies cover the whole leg. HTH

we have about 18 PFs unbleached indian/chinese (im getting another doz in the co-op though!)
1 pair of longies for nightitme
5 shorties

make sure to show us your soakers when you are done!

Re: Wool & prefolds

I have 3 pairs of shorties, 2 pairs of wool shorts, 1 pair of longes, 2 pairs of carpi length longies and 2 wraps. I don't have any soakers. Most of mine are recycled.
And an insane amount of prefolds.

I would say 3-5 wool covers and 2 dozen prefolds would set you up just fine! If you have a little baby that goes more frequently you will want more covers. Most of us have more wool, but that's because it is so cute
