Poll: How much have you spent on diapers?

I think between 2-300 that I've spent, my MIL (I'm lucky she is so cool) is the one who bought new fuzzi bunz when we got started. So I don't include the money she spent lol.

I voted $1,000+ b/c I use Quicken, and I know for sure that I'm at about $1100. BUT, this includes ALL wetbags, ALL wipes, ALL covers, ALL dipes, doublers, wool (too much, I'd say about 50% of that total is wool alone), all shipping costs (even on dipes I mailed to someone else, which you won't get from adding up your paypal total).

Are we all being completely honest here with our totals, LOL, b/c we've only done newborn and small sizes so far and I'm already up to that. I do admit we had to invest about $50 in some preemie sizes, I've already bought 3 pairs of longies for the winter/spring and I'm also not selling a ton, b/c we're saving almost everything for #2 to help offset this cost. I guess $1100 for two kids wouldn't be bad, it's just shocking right now. Still cheaper than sposies though!

I voted between $300-$400, but I have also sold alot. I went trhough a looonnggggg period of trial and error when I felt like I was constantly spending and selling

Aaack! I just did the math and instead of between $2-$300 (wishful thinking) it was closer to $600. At least you know you're getting money back with that and besides, this was for dipes, covers, wipes, and cleaning implements.

I have twins though so I think I'm doing pretty good. No special diapers for us. One uniform set of 20.

I've probably spent about $400-900 but I did CD my 2yr old shortly and then I sold a bunch that I didn't care for and haven't bought much in a LONG time! Maybe one or two that I wanted to try but nothing major. I think for most ppl its the initial set up and trial and error that costs the most!

I had a hard time deciding if it was just under $1000 or just over, so I put over $1000... but of course we don't still have all that! Much of it has been sold at around 75+%, so not much loss! I love cloth diapering!! It & scrapbooking are my hobbies... I justify my cloth by saying that 1-2 drinks at a restaurant/bar cost the same as one cloth dipe!! So I buy cloth rather then drink socially!

This is an estimate on what I currently have. Not all of that cost was out of pocket though as I sell stuff as I buy more.

ETA: Since Eliana's birth, had I been using sposies, I'd have spent: $500. However, the diapers I have now should be all I need for then next several months and I will be able to resell them when I'm done with them and (as needed) buy more in the next size. Ever try to resell a used sposie!

I voted for $1000+ because I know I've spent well over that. My wool stash alone is probably worth $300 or so, LOL. My fitted stash is probably worth just as much. That doesn't include covers, wipes, wetbags, prefolds, AIO/AI2s, etc. This is for CDing 1 child, too. I won't be adding it up anytime soon.

I'm at 1000$. I have bought new and used. I have tons of wool. I can justify it.. I am not doing it to save money (save the environment, yes.) I know I can easily recoup 1/2 of my investment...
