Lucky! I wouldn't take Bram either if it weren't for all the referrals and junk we need. I have a love/hate relationship with Medicaid.

We just didn't/don't plan on going unless there's a real need. If we could find a doc like ferrferr's though, we might go! We had weight issues at first, too. We went to one appt. a couple weeks after he was born so he could be weighed. After that, if we hadn't seen that he was growing well, we may have gone in to have him weighed again.

Re: What type of Dr. does your LO see?

We don'tgo very often. After lots of searching I found a Dr. I love. She specializes in pediatrics and internal medicine. We love her. She is okay with our choices, and others who don't vax or live at the dr's office....
I found mine through somebody in my LLL group.

Jenn

PS She doens't vax her children....

We see a Family Dr. for routine visits. But if there is anything complicated we get a referral to a pediatrician.

Re: What type of Dr. does your LO see?

Where I live (Northern-ish Ontario) everyone sees a family physician for most health care, so a referral is needed for a Ped. My family Dr. has had no problems with selective and delayed vaxing (not sure what he'd think of no vaxing at all, but he probably wouldn't force the issue). DS#2 also sees a Ped. - she hasn't commented on his vax schedule either. I chose her because she's the most open-minded and youngest of the 3 ped's in town, and she has young kids of her own. Recently I took DS#2 to see a Naturopath as well, and I was fairly happy with her.

Personally, I wouldn't use a Naturopath as my child's ONLY Dr., but that's just me ... and my DS#2 has a complicated medical history and very much still needs reflux meds. That being said, I'm pretty sure I'll be taking DS#1 to the Naturopath soon too.

Re: What type of Dr. does your LO see?

My new insurance policy is only accepted by one office in our town. so I'm still new to the office but so far I love them. I've had to take all three kids in for something different so I've met a few different drs in the office (about 25 of them too). The one is all for cd's and cds her own kids. The office supports non-vaxing and they delay vax too as normal practice. They are also open 365 days a year which shocked me. They never close.

Re: What type of Dr. does your LO see?

My kids see a family practice Dr.. and I love her very much When I took DD to her for the first time (he was 8 months), she asked about vaxs and I told her we didnt vax.. her response was "Ok, good!". She is very breastfeeding friendly and she takes the time to answer all my questions. She was also very supportive with delaying solids (DD was almost 9 mo when we started). Actually, DH and I see her too. She's actually a "DO".. not exactly wure what the difference is between MD and DO tho.. I was actually pretty surprised to find such an open minded in Doc in such a conservative, mainstream little town!

ETA: My DS is also seeing specialists at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin for pulmonary and feeding/speech issues.

And DD saw a chiropractor for colic issues for 4-5 months.

We all have the same ''family'' DR. He is amazing and has always supported my decisions as a parent.

Mamas!!! I'm very interested in the no doctor thing as well!!
Since I've started delaying vaccines I don't even take David [unless he was sick...] But I still like to try out other things first!! He's had a few ear infections and I'm not keen on shoving antibiotics down him all the time especially since they don't always work anyway!
This last time I used Garlic/Willow oil...!

So anyway, what do you do if they are sick...
Give me some insight!!
How do i start on this road????
