need ideas for snacks

I'm reading that eating something every 1-2 hrs can help keep the nausea at bay...as it is, I don't eat much because I feel so sick all the time and NOTHING sounds good.

I think I'm really lacking protein. I crave meat....even though, the thought of it kind of makes me sick lol I've been surviving the last few weeks off of ham sandwhiches pretty much....a little Oh's cereal, banana nut muffins or bananas...but not much else.

Any ideas for bland high protein snacks? I have a ton of quinoa and I know thats high in protein...and definately bland on its own Any ideas on how to fix it?

Jodi,
with the quinoa, I usully cook it with a little bit of olive oil and some garlic, and it makes it WONDERFULLY tasty. If you can do garlic, give this a try.

When I was preg, I could mostly eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches, and yogurt. Almost everything else made me nauseated. Are you taking any ginger?
That really helps with the nausea.

I don't have any ginger. I do have ginger EO though, maybe I could make a solid perfume type thing with it or just something to sniff every now and then.

I went to the store today and got ritz bitz pb crackers, granola/protein bars, trail mix, and more bananas and muffins. Hopefully some of it will sound good at some point....

Oh....the smell of pb makes me sick I don't think I could handle a pb sandwhich lol But I was able to down the ritz bitz (that and a bottle of water was my lunch lol).

Thanks for the suggestions....I'll have to try the quinoa...not sure about garlic though. Maybe I'll try a little bit of veggie bullion with it.

Yeah, we're a garlic lovin' family here - so most EVERYTHING gets cooked with garlic or something garlic flavored. i ate lots of avocado too......its mild but high in protein
during my first 4-5 months my last pregnancy, the only thing i could eat was mcdonalds chicken sandwiches and blizzards, those were the two things i never got sick with it was the first i'd eaten mcd's in a decade

Re: need ideas for snacks

Congrats, mama!

Here are my favorite high protein snacks:
Yogurt,
cheese,
turkey pepperoni,
basically any kind of meat,
Tuna (occasionally),
basically any kind of nut (I watch out on pb though bc of the sugar),
tricuit crackers (LOTS of good whole grain!),
eggs,
and I like some of those protein-enriched cereal type bars.........

Oh and soy is really good for ya too, but I'm allergic if it's straight soy

my sis is going through the morning sickness stuff really bad her doc has her on eggs...doesn't stay down for her...but a fiend of mine swears by grilled cheese sandwhiches being the cure for her morning sickness maybe give that a try....or some soy munchies, tofu cubes..that is about as bland as it gets...that tastes like chewable water hahaha
