I need some reassurance...is BF poop suppose to stink? I think my dd has diarrhea because her poop stinks! How do I know if it is normal bf poop or diarrhea???

I could never tell the difference. My sons usually smelled like something rotten to me, LOL. We have a factory here in town that makes stuff that occasionally reminds me of the bf poo smell, LOL. I can't explain it. It does smell - but in the long run it smells better than ff poo in the diaper pail.
I'm not sure if she has diarrhea or not - but it does smell when it's just bf poo (well, it did to me anyway!).

My sons poop stink a wierd sweet smell. I can't really describe it, but it aint good! His farts can nearly clear a room and the guys only 2 months! LOL

Mine stunk too. BF babies don't get diarrhea as often as FF babies. HTH!

No, I never really understood what people meant when they said bf poo didn't smell bad. At best, it smelled sort of cheesy.

It smells kinda sweet, but not good. It just doesn't stink the way regular poop stinks. hth

Yeah it's sort of like an annoying smell,but definately not bad or good.
To me it sort of smells like bread,or since I"m a carbaholic it could just be us

It does have a distinctive smell- and look to it. It's usually super runny anyway- not a lot of form to it and it's usually a bright orange or mustardy color with little pieces in it that always made me think of cottage cheese. A lot of people think that they have diarrhea because it is so thin- but it's just because their little tummies can absorb it so well that there just isn't much left over to make poop with.
