Shipping to Canada..

I am wondering, suppose I put a diaper up for sale at the price that includes shipping. But then if someone from Canada wants the diaper, and offer me a bit less than what I am asking for, What would you do if you were me?

Hmm that's a hard situation.
I know that I've asked mamas in the past if they're willing to make a deal on more than one item. It gets complicated though, so usually I don't really try to negotiate, seeing as I'm from Canada...lol

I would just say, if you are willing to take the hit then take her offer.
If not, then just say no?

Say, you're asking $10ppd. But if you wanted a bit more to Canada, then you'd quote CDN mamas $12ppd. But say, you're willing to go down a couple of bucks to a US mama...$8ppd...then maybe a CDN mama could take it for $10 shipped....does that make any sense? lol

Re: Shipping to Canada..

I sold a lot of GADs last week. To ship one, no insert, two states away from me in the US it was $2.31. To ship the same weight of diaper to Canada was $1.94. So, yeah, I would treat it the same as I would a sale within the states as long as the package isn't so heavy its going to push you over the limit for cheap shipping.

I'm in Canada and I've found that shipping isn't any more to Canada when sending light items like diapers.

Ditto to the posters that said small items like diapers aren't anymore (and are sometimes less) to Canada. So, I likely wouldn't worry about the postage cost to Canada for one diaper. Just decide whether the price she offered is fair.

Re: Shipping to Canada..

I bought a diaper from a mama who was asking $10 including shipping. She told me she would charge $2 extra to ship to Canada. I was fine with that.

I never had a diaper ship for more than 2$ to Canada. So I would definitely consider the offer as you would for a US mama.

As for pp being asked 2$ for a diaper?? Why?
1$ I can understand for the trouble of going to the post office, but 2$ seems a bit much.

I would never pay extra for shipping to Canada, not unless it was a heavy item and I knew it was costing the seller more to ship. I've been asked to "add $1" for shipping to Canada and when it arrived, it cost 63 CENTS to mail to me! (knitting needles). Because I don't charge mamas for my time and gas to drive to the post office (as ALL canadian mamas have to), I don't feel I should have to pay for it from someone else.

I can agree with you on this one. I mail 99% of my stuff to the US and don't get extra for it. That is also why I don't buy from stores who charge a "handling fee" for shipping to Canada.
