Question ~front snaps vs side snaps~

Does it make a difference? Which do you prefer? Why?

Thanks

Re: ~front snaps vs side snaps~

Some prefer side snaps because they like the way the front of the dipe looks -- more streamlined.

I prefer side snaps because Caroline has skinny thighs and side snapping dipes just tend to fit her a bit better. There are front snaps that fit, but side snaps are a better bet for us overall.

Re: ~front snaps vs side snaps~

I liked front snaps only until Henry was about 6 months old. Side snaps were just awkward for me. Now that he is mobile, and slimming down a bit, I cannot get anything front snapping to fit correctly on him. We have major gaping at the waist because he has a slim little waist but very chunky thighs. Side snaps allow you to adjust the waist and legs seperately, so they are much better for us right now. I also like the flat front; it seemed like the bulkiness of the front snaps would be uncomfortable when sitting and crawling.

Same here. Much less bulk as well.

Re: ~front snaps vs side snaps~

I like side snap on my girls because they are too skinny and I can never seem to get front snap tight enough in the waist.

I have both and right now I'm preferring the front snap. I think it's because DS is just now discovering his legs and keeps thrashing them all about. So, it's become kind of hard to side snap lately.

Re: ~front snaps vs side snaps~

I prefer front snaps. I find them easier to put on, because all the snaps are closer together and easily visible from the front. I also dislike dealing with the interior flaps that make a side-snapping diaper work. Plus I think the front of side-snapping diapers often looks kind of poofy, depending on the exact design.

I agree that being able to adjust the thighs and waist separately can be useful, but side snapping diapers aren't the only ones with that feature -- Fuzzi Bunz being a popular example of a front-snapping dipe with separate thigh snaps.
