Do your kids have a plastic playhouse?

I know it's early planning, but my grandmother sent Julie a $100 giftcard for Toys R Us for birthday and Christmas last year ($50 each) and since we really don't do plastic toys I was browsing to see if there was something else she might use or like from there so I could tell my grandmother to get something else. I thought this might be fun. It's a Step2 playhouse.

Anyone have one? We'd probably leave it indoors though, in the basement family room. If anyone has any other ideas of what I could spend $100 on for a 2 year old, I am open to suggestion. It took me forever to spend it last year. I don't think she'll shop online, so I am limited to retail gift cards.

I have 4 boys from the age of 1-7 and have a plastic play castle outside. It sees HUGE amounts of action year round from all my kids and the neighborhood kids It's even used when we have 3 feet of snow on the ground as a fort to fed off incoming show balls I have some pics of it, I'll dig them up and post.

I can't believe you got that for $5! Amazing!

My DD doesn't have a playhouse but we are also considering buying one for her 2nd bday. I'm going to watch this thread to see what other mamas think. I'd hate to spend that kinda money for something she ignores!

If there is a plastic playhouse anywhere in site my son is freaking out that he wants to play in it. He loves those things! We do not have one yet, but we are looking at getting one soon.

Re: Do your kids have a plastic playhouse?

I definitely think that would be a great investment! My kids have both a playhouse (just a basic one with a door and shuttered window) and a little climber thing. My 18 m.o. really loves the playhouse, but is learning to climb on the other thing lately (which scares the crud out of me because he doesn't comprehend falling yet, and will just step out the doorway if I'm not close by.) My 4.5 y.o. DD is too tall for the playhouse these days, but she still loves climbing the "rock wall." DS loves opening the shutters and door on the playhouse. Both of them see a lot of action around here.

You can find a good deal at a secondhand store or yard sale, but you have to be pretty lucky to find as good a price as the PP! We've found some nice ride-on toys for next to nothing at yard sales locally.

I think they are a great investment! Ours started out in our living room for a couple of years before moving to the yard. worked great in both places!
