Is it possible when you are breastfeeding to get a period (I had a short light 3-day period at 6 months post about a week and a half after I ovulated) And then not to ovulate again? I was due to ovulate a few days ago and it never happened, is it possible that maybe a short nursing strike kicked AF into gear and now it might not happen again for a while?

Yup. It's completely normal. AF and O can be totally screwed up.

With two of my kids, I had a normal AF return at 4 months. with another one, I never saw it until I was completely done BF. One of them it was totally irregular. I'm currently nursing baby 5 and no AF yet.
