What's the point of swim diapers on a 2 mth old?

Her poo is 75% watery stuff with some seedy stuff in it. I mean, seriously, what is a swim diaper going to to with bf newborn poo????

I just would like to use some of our unstuffed pockets like people have suggested previously, but is that going to do anything for us with a 2 month old???? Should I go get the disposable kind? Would those be better? Does anything REALLY keep anything besides truly solid poo in?

ugh, this just makes me not want to go to public pools anymore. I've never had to think about this before, and it's grossing me out to think about all the kids that go in public pools.

any thoughts from someone who's BTDT???

The disposable kind only starts at about 16lbs. My 2 month old (last summer) almost weighed that much, but they were still a bit big. Target has some cloth swim diapers that might be worth a try. We bought one for our vacation, but we haven't used it yet. They seem to have tighter waist and leg holes than our FB. Or you can just hope she doesn't poop.

hmmmm... hadn't actually looked at the disposable kind yet. i'm glad you told me that they start at 16lbs, b/c she's 11lbs and doesn't tend to fit into dipes that are sized larger than her actual weight IFKWIM.

sooooo maybe the Target dipes might be something I really should look at. I was going to go later today anyway, so maybe i'll take a look. chances are she won't poop anyway. she's a 2x per day pooper and one is 1st thing in the morning and one is mid-afternoon, and she's fairly consistent. if we just go to the pool in the later am, then it won't be an issue, but since we're required to have swim dipes on babies, we'll have to put something on her.

hmmm......

I have a May Baby as well!!! Last year, I just used the small or x-small swim dipes from Target for my DD.

We tried using a FB at the lake for a swim diaper (mostly to protect DS if he fell on rocks ) and it just filled up with water and hung down. They work too well I guess.
We use disp swimmers and my friend even turns them inside out to dry and reuses them - takes FOREVER! I'd try the kushies swim diap if you can. Apparently they are small fitting so be ware of that.

I use unstuffed FB and they have worked great for us so far. If anything I would think that the poo might stick to the fleece better than a swim dipe and be less likely to leak. Thats JMO, HTH.

Did you stuff it? I use them unstuffed when swimming and they work really well.

Cloth swim diapers have a cotton or similar layer on the inside to grab the poo.

I love the swim dipes at Target. But I can say we had to be the size up. They are terry on the inside, great a holding in the poo!
