Help me! Slings?

Ok so here goes. My ds is 2 months old and refuses to let me put him down during the day. The worst times are always during lunch and dinner time.

I was thinking I could purchase a sling or wrap (sorry inexperienced here). There are so many choices out there that I have no idea where to begin! What are your favorites and why?

I would like something that isn't going to make me hot or him hot since we live in Texas. Any help would be really appreciated!

Head over to the Babywearer www.thebabywearer.com (I think) and they will be such awesome help. I am told that a pouch at that age is awesome. You wouldn't need an extra small by any chance would you?

Re: Help me! Slings?

thebabywearer.com is the place to go! You will find a wealth of info and reviews there. I got into babywearing big time with #2 (i'm now pregnant with #3) and love it. During the tiny stage I used pouches, ring slings and wraps the most. I wasn't initially crazy about the way ring slings looked however they are now my most loved (and most used) carrier. My dd is 15 months and we still use our ring slings alot. I really like Sleeping Baby Productions slings http://www.sleepingbaby.net/index.php. They are super comfy and very reasonably priced. Last summer we used our solarveil (meshy that offers sun protection) ring sling the most.

Have fun!

At that age, a pouch might be your best bet, unless your DC is big, like mine was. We used a Moby wrap and now also use a ring sling from Rockin Baby. The sling is expensive, but nice. I know there are tons of ring slings out there, so you can find one cheaper so as to not break the bank!

Since you all seem to mention how big he is here is some additional info:

He just had his 2 month check up and weighed 10lbs 7 oz. and 24 inches long.
Doesn't weigh a whole lot, but he is super long for his age!

Hope that helps some!

I think a pouch would be great - I loved mine when dd was that age. Check out hotslings.com - I found a store on eBay that sells hotslings that are discontinued patterns, returns, etc. for a discout (sanctioned by hotslings). The store is called The Serendipity Spot. A pouch is great because it usually squishes up to next to nothing and you can just shove it in a bag!

I second the Hotslings! I bought one here on a FSOT board, and I absolutely love it! DS does, too! He is 3 months and probably about 16 or 17 lbs, and I put him in it in the front carry position. It's super easy to put on (I always had a tough time learning wraps and getting buckles fixed on other carriers.) And it does fold down to nothing, so t's easy to carry.

Check out slinglings.com. I have a friend that loves these and they're only $35. Lots of fabric choices too. I still wear my 30+lb 27 m/o in a pouch. LOVE it!!

Re: Help me! Slings?

I agree go read info at babywearer.
Also, depending on wear you live you may have a baby resale shop close by where you can try on different types and brands of slings.
I keep thinking about buying one of these:
