Question about Mutts...

I am looking at buying some newborn Muttiqan fitteds for my next baby and I am wondering will these fit a newborn right away and also about how many weeks/months can I expect to get use out of them?

Oh, one more question, should I get the trifold or contour soaker? I am new to cding and I have no idea what the difference is.

Thanks so much,
Lindsey

Re: Question about Mutts...

Unless they've changed, the newborns I got all had internal soakers. I can't tell you exactly, but the muttaqins did last longer for my daughter than other newborn diapers. I believe she wore them from birth (7lbs) to about 3 months (???).

eta: just checked her site and she does have quickdry newborns. I bought all mine from diaperco and they were internal. I think with newborn sizes that quickdry isn't as important because with less soaker material they obviously dry faster. I dunno...I think I would choose contour but can't give you a reason except it's a bit lazier than having to fold! But internal soakers are my top choice for newborn diapers. After that I go to quickdry.

Re: Question about Mutts...

I agree with the PP, the only newborn Mutts I've seen have the internal soaker, I haven't seen a newborn with a trifold. That doesn't mean she didn't make some though.

Re: Question about Mutts...

All the NB Mutts I have have internal soakers. She's been wearing them since birth (she weighed 7lbs). She's almost 5 wks old and they still fit. I think we should be able to get another several wks worth of wear out of them before I sell them. On a side, the Mutts are my favorite diapers for her.

Re: Question about Mutts...

All mine had internal soakers. I loved them lots more than my Kissaluvs 0s. They were more absorbent and cuter, IMO! As for how long DC can wear them, it just depends on how fast they grow. DS outgrew his within about 3 weeks, but he is a mega-chunker! He probably could've worn them longer, but I don't really like putting a diaper on him that snaps on the largest snap setting. It just seems like a disaster waiting to happen!

Re: Question about Mutts...

I have some with the trifold, I would do internal or sewn on quick dry. Easier for a newborn. My baby isn't born yet, but I just tried them on my 4 wk old nephew and they were too small. He is about 10.5/11 lbs.

They are the cutest though.
