Re: Newborns... what diaper did you use, PF or sposies?

I used prefolds and newborn sized proraps as soon as we got home from the hospital. I never had a problem with the cord getting wet, since my babies were changed so frequently. Plus, the cut out notch on the proraps was wonderful. I didn't worry about the meconium getting on the prefolds, and it never did stain our diapers. I'm not one to worry about stains, though.

I know what you mean about the cord taking forever to fall off. My dd finally lost her's at 6 weeks! My boys' fell off before they were 2 weeks old, but I didn't think dd's would ever fall off. That sucker was on there tight!

i've heard the meconium does not stain at all....and that it's not the getting wet w/the cord that is the problem but it's rubbing that you don't want. i haven't cd yet though...still waiting on brighton!

The newborn proraps have a low enough notch that the cover never touched the cord stump. That's why I loved them so!

We had to use disposables b/c DS was a preemie and didn't fit in any diapers we had. Luckily we had him in cloth around 2 weeks, though.

We were in sposies till I felt a less overwhelmed by the whole first time mom thing and my bum healed , about two weeks I would say. Then we started Kissaluvs, which were okay, but I much prefer prefolds and proraps, the Kls were soooo bulky
