Selling Formula Checks?

I see people selling formula checks that they get in the mail or whatever.
Can anyone use them, even if it has someone else's name on them?
Does that matter?

I just give mine away FFS. I don't think its right to make someone else pay for something that you get for free.
I've never heard anyone have any trouble using them with someone else's name on them.

Wow. that's not right to sell them when they are free to begin with. IMO I see it like getting the free cans from WIC and selling those too.

just my though

Re: Selling Formula Checks?

Don't feel like looking for the smiley, but yeah that!! People do sell their WIC formula - it is a huge black market, it is FRAUD - if you are caught, it is a FEDERAL FELONY WITH JAIL TIME!! One of the things taxpayers pay for and people abuse....as for the formula checks, I guess you can do what you want with the ones you get, but fabricating a child to get free checks so you can sell them, that seems a little much to me!

Re: Selling Formula Checks?

Oh, and if you think no one cares, you are wrong - the Feds have entire departments investigating WIC fraud! And selling the formula checks (read the fine print on them) is MAIL FRAUD, as my DH JUST pointed out to me, which is also a FEDERAL FELONY! That kind of post (#5) really boils my blood!

Re: Selling Formula Checks?

While some people may not think it's right to sell checks you get for free there is a HUGE difference in selling those and selling WIC cans of formula. The formula is provided to you based on income/baby's needs. The checks are mailed to you by formula companies wanting you to use their product. Selling WIC cans is straight out wrong...selling coupons is more of a grey area.

I don't think I feel bad about people selling coupons. They are just another way corporations try to force formula down baby's throats. Selling formula that is earmarked for needy families is a way different situation.
