My DS just turned 1 on the 17th of July he was 5lbs at birth and 19 3/4 long

Now he is 32" long and 22lbs.

sounds like your DS is just right on track since he is 4 times bigger in his weight then when he was born.

Keep up the good work momma!

My DS is a peanut too. He's almost 18 months now, and probably weighs about 18 lbs---IF that much, LOL!

Unfortunately, he's had a lot of health problems, and he has a lot or problems gaining any weight...

But, I try not to worry about those charts anyway! As long as your son is healthy and where he should be otherwise, that's all that matters!!

Re: It is confirmed! My DS is small.

I had a tiny guy too who never got out of the 5th percentile for either height or weight until high school...at which time he shot up. He's five foot nine now...which may not seem tall to some people, but honestly, if I'd been asked when he was five, ten, twelve years old how tall he'd end up, I would have said "Five four and a hundred pounds." Sometimes they surprise ya!

Re: It is confirmed! My DS is small.

My DS was born at 5 lbs 8 oz and at almost 4 months is right around 12 lbs. It's awesome considering that there for a little while, he wouldn't gain weight at all. He used to be 0% for weight, and now he's up to 2% I think? He's really tall, too. Then again, so is his daddy.

Re: It is confirmed! My DS is small.

at 1 yr my dd was about 16lbs and 28in i think. Now at almost 22mths old she is probly around 21lbs. Not sure on the height. She always has been and still is below 0% for weight. But she has some heart problems that were causing her alot of problems that 1st year. Not so much now but she still isn't much of an eater.

Re: It is confirmed! My DS is small.

My dd was 6lbs 13ozs (although considered a preemie due to early birth and defects). At her one year check up she was 17lbs, at 2 she was like 21lbs, at 3 years she was 26lbs and now she is turning 4 and weighs 44lbs ~ what the heck happened in the last year!! She is also 44" tall, measured her yesterday.

My ds was born big and didn't slow down until about 3-4 years old. He is now average in all height and weight (at 11 years old).

FRT, there is nothing wrong with him, he's perfectly healthy. He's active and meeting his milestones on schedule. He's just a perfect little thin boy.

So anyway, *that* is why I say, when I'm selling all my large diapers, that it doesn't look like my DS will ever need them!
I just wanted to share. Anyone else have a tiny baby? How big were yours at a year and how did they fare as they got older?
Have a good night!!
Well, based on my ds, I don't know if you can say you'll never need larges!!! My ds was 19lbs (3rd percentile) and I can't remember length, but it was 10th percentile - he was very small, but same as yours, nothing wrong w/ him. Well, he's 3 now: 38lbs and in the 90th percentile for height...and he wears larges! We probably didn't switch to larges until he was over 2 (he was 29lbs at 2), and at first it was mainly for the rise (he could technically wear mediums as far as his legs & waist went, but his little booty was hanging out the top!). He still wears FBs with the leg snaps on the second biggest and the waist snaps on the smallest setting...
