Re: It is confirmed! My DS is small.

My DD is 50% for height and 25% for weight. She is 2 years old and only weighs 24lbs soaking wet. The doctor wasn't worried one bit. He said who would complain about being average height and below average weight. We can only hope she didn't get my weight genes

Re: It is confirmed! My DS is small.

my guy has been a lil fry too, but he's managed to stay on his own curve ranging from 5%-15% for both weight and height....At 13 months he was 19 lbs(8%) and 29 3/4 inches long(15-20%)....now at age 3 he is 28 lbs and 36 inches tall, still on the lower end but I have gotten over my worries...he's still in mediums too, much easier to find mediums IMO!!!

Nadia was 16lbs 2oz & 27" at 1 year. she wasn't on the chart for either one. She hit the chart at 2 years. At 4 she is now 32.5lbs & 37lbs. There is a noticeable difference between her and her schoolmates.

Re: It is confirmed! My DS is small.

This is such a comforting thread for me! Dd is only 9 mo but weighs 16.5 lbs and 26". Not super teeny but my ds was taller and heavier (more like 21 lbs) at this age. Plus, at church we had a baby boom of girls born last October and they are HUGE! Most of them aren't moving around much while dd has recently taken her first steps. I figure must be easier without all that extra chub to heft around (aw, but nothing to grab! )

I'm wondering for those of you who had tiny babies that shot up, did genetics play a factor? My dh and I are pretty short, I don't know how much hope there is for our kiddos. Ds is still the shortest kid in his pre-k.

DH and I are both tall and thin, I'm hoping that my DS will shoot up at some point, I couldn't care less if he's a skinny boy, kwim? Healthy is all that matters to me!
I guess its in our genes over here to be tiny. I'm petite and nearly 6 ft tall!

How cute your little babys must be. My son must be a monster...lol. He is huge. Ive never had a small baby. My smallest daughter weighed 8lbs 12 oz at birth and just continued to grow from there.
Dakota weighed 9 pounds at birth, and just the other day had his 6 month check up and ....(are you ready for this??)... weighed 25 lbs and 1 oz, and was 29.5 inches long.... and hes only 6 months...

Re: It is confirmed! My DS is small.

it would be awesome if he had the rolls... but he dont. hes long and lean (for weighing 25 lbs)... he has a little chub to his cheeks but not much... and NO chub to his legs. go figure.......
