1 month old belly sleeping...

i know its bad. but for naps i let him and check in every 5 mins...
when is it okay to put him to bed on his belly?? he HATEs being on his back

I wouldn't leave the room, but that is me. You are not supposed to have them on their tummy until they can roll themselves over. There were a few threads on this a few weeks ago, do a search and you can read what a lot of mamas said. Back to sleep does help with the prevention of SIDS but there are other factors such as being around smoke and diet as well.

just my two cents.. babies like their bellies more.. I've done it a lot with babies (monitored) in the hospital.. in your own home is up to you.. my friend who had 8 kids (her youngest is 10) says she always put her babies on their belly (that's what they taught you back then) so it's up to you.
