Best pacifier for newborns?

I am getting together a list fo stuff for my DH to pick up is the states for me and wanted him to get a few pacifiers for the new baby in case he/she wants one. I used Avent with my DD, but honestly hated the handle. when it fell it clicked loud enough to wake her almost every time. So I am looking for some other option, hoping to get one with no handle! Thanks, Danni

Soothies. No little crevices for junk to hide in and no plastic.

Re: Best pacifier for newborns?

These are the ones I like best. They are hard to find, though. This is where I ordered mine.

The ones like this with the yellow rubber are fairly easy to find, but my kids never liked them. They always preferred these, which are technically the newborn size. My son had the same two pacifiers for two years because I couldn't find them after I bought the first pack. When the midwife saw my youngest with her's she said they were the best ones.

I bought DS all the cute Mam stripes and dots ones but he only wanted the Soothie ones because they were "mommy shaped"

Jack did preemie Soothies, then the green Soothies.

Now, he's all Playtex Ortho-Pro though. I prefer these as well. He started with those about 3 months old... he could keep them in his mouth better than the Soothies.

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.

Re: Best pacifier for newborns?

I'm going to say Evenflo Natural Comfort with keep away shield... But they dont carry it any more... I have the 2 styles they made cause the nipple was all that mattered to DS... But I prefer the ALL silicone ones versus the ones with the plastic on the clip parts... The silicone ones if dropped did not make any noise... not to mention they are supposed to be shaped like the breast, and pretty much do resemble the breast nipple... DS preferred these over any other, and he is 10m now and still prefers them over anything... We tried all different kinds...
Attached are pics of the one I prefer since its ALL silicone...
But like I said they are hard to find...

DS only would only use Playtex Binky. They stopped selling them in Canada, but a nice mama in the US sent some to us!
