Re: Best pacifier for newborns?

We used the Soothies at first then she decided that she wanted the MAM and has used the MAM since she was 2months.

Re: Best pacifier for newborns?

My 8 week old seems to like the Gerber Nuk pacifiers but that's the only one we've tried--we had a couple on hand that my mom bought for a shower game, lol. I guess that's the only kind I would use as a baby so that's what she grabbed. I hadn't really wanted dd to use them, I was really concerned about nipple confusion, but oddly enough...she seems to get reverse-confusion. She never has trouble latching on to breastfeed, but she sometimes tries to suck on the pacifier like she sucks on my nipple and she can't keep it in her mouth. She doesn't use the pacifier all that much, so maybe she just forgets in between, lol, but it works for us when she starts yelling at the milk coming from me when she apparently just wants to suck, not eat.

Re: Best pacifier for newborns?

DD used the gerber gentle flex though she used soothies at first but had a hard time keeping it in then we switched to the gerber and they didn't pop out so she could go to sleep without us holding it in. The gerber ones are hard to find I have only found them at burlington coat factory. I only dread the day we start taking it away that girl is attached to hers

Re: Best pacifier for newborns?

My first son was given a MAM at the hospital and wouldnt take anything but that kind. I tried the SOOTHIES and he hated them. My second was given a SOOTHIE at the same hospital and now thats all he will take. I hate it just because he cant keep it in his mouth as well and its always falling out! I hope he takes the the MAM eventually. Right now he seems to not care for a binky at all!

I vote for the Nuks - you can get some without handles - just a round top. My first hated pacis period, my second would ONLY take the Nuks - absolutely hated the Soothie. She had a very small mouth and the soothie was absolutely HUGE, she couldn't even get it in her mouth without gagging.
