naming a baby boy after a namesake and....

me and hubby are trying to decide. We like a few more than others and I want to see what you all think!

Hubby's name is Grady Ward and was called G.W. growing up. One grandfather was Grady William and the other Gilbert Ward. They were both called G.W. So the name sake part is to carry on the G.W. This is I feel my last pregnancy, we may or may not have a boy, so I told him it may be his last chance to carry that on.

Our other boys are Christian Arthur, Seth Micheal, and Landan Avery.

What do you all think? I also have these names picked out: Leland Scott, Levi James, Liam Scott, and the GW names. Tell me what you think!

Ohhh...I've always loved the name Gage. I saw it on a movie growing up and it's always stuck with me. I noticed your hubbys name in your siggy earlier and just loved it too. You have great names for your dc too~

Well, FIL is Jose Martin, BIL is James Michael (his sons are Joseph Martin, Jonathan Michael), my DH is John Mark, and DS is Jackson Milo.

SO, I'm all for doing the family thing. BUT, ONLY IF YOU LOVE THE NAME! I don't think using a name you dislike to honor family is a good idea in general. As long as you love the name, go for it.

My very favorites are Garrett and Levi! I adore both!

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.

I love the names Garrett (one of my many nephews names) and I knew a very sweet Greek boy named Gideon when I was 11 I think. Gage is nice too, I think that was the sweet little boy in Pet Semetary though. That name stuck with me too. But for all the wrong reasons

I am all for family traditions, but had to put my foot down on my husbands tradition which is boys having the mothers maiden name as a first name. I will settle with naming a boy after both of our fathers.

I did vote for Garrett, but I equally like Gideon. Levi is also very cute, but stay with the tradition I would say.

Good luck with that.

I love gideon. LOVE it. I wanted to name ds gideon (amongst a million others) but DH won that one.

I agree with the pp. I am all about tradition, but only if you love the name too.

Oh, and I like Levi too.
