Is it safe to keep water in a wipes warmer without wipes?

I'm not talking about a lot of water but just enough to dampen the wipes with. I prefer to only use water to clean DS because he has a very sensitive bottom and I hate to just spray him with cold water. Do you think it's safe to just keep water in the wipes warmer so it can be warm when I clean him?

That's what I do!! Works fine for us. I change it 2-3 days a week.
