Question Ice Breaker :-)

Okay since this topic needs to be broken in I thought I would ask a question..

My son just had his 6 month old shots not long ago. Well where they gave him his shots at (in his upper thiegh) it created a Knot. I thought it was normal and would go away after a day or so. Well it still hasnt! He has a knot in both his thieghs and when you touch them he still screams...

His shots were on April 5th. Should he still have painful knots from them?

Thanks for your advice!!

Re: Ice Breaker :-)

I don't know about kids, but I got a shot in my leg when I was having my DS1 and it took MONTHS to go away. It hurt so bad. I'd say try to rub it and maybe massage it out, but if he's screaming when you touch it that's probably not a good thing. I'd call your doctor to make sure it's ok. *Hugs*

Totally normal! Just give tylenol when it seems to be more bothersome.

My ds never got that but my dd did. With every set of shots in her theigh a knot would form. The ped. said to give Tylenol and then try to rub it a bit. After like 6-8 weeks I didn't notice it anymore. My ped said it was more commen in the fair skin crowd (my dd is fair skin and my ds is not).

Re: Ice Breaker :-)

My dd had a knot in her leg too from the shots. It ended up going away but it took awhile for it to go away.

My friend's daughter got knots in her legs that persisted for weeks, and now she only lets her dd get 1 at a time. She hasn't had that problem since doing it that way.

Re: Ice Breaker :-)

My daughter gets knots for a few weeks after her shots. They do not seem to hurt her after the first few days though. My doctor recommended that I massage a warm wash rag over the area. I havent been doing that b/c the knots dont seem to be bothering her.
