Are anyone else's goodmamas fading?

Mine are 4 out of 5 of them. They've been washed 3 times (two of those were prep). Argh. I'm new to fitteds, so I didn't really think this would happen. One of the prints looks like it could be a slightly different material, but the cotton ones are all fading slightly and have some teeny pills on them. I guess I'm being picky... but I don't like it.

My PW aren't doing this though?

Re: Are anyone else's goodmamas fading?

I had one fade on me, but the rest of my prints haven't had a problem. I think mine faded though because I dried it on high heat the first time. But ever since they have been dried on low heat, and no more fading. So sorry yours are fading on you though

I think it depends on each print. I know my jolly roger GM pilled where my others haven't. Some of them are a bit faded, but I think all prints fade at least a little bit after washing -- especially washing on hot.

It's the same way with my PW's. Some of them have pilled where the others haven't.

Thats so weird. My Jolly Rogers still looks good as new.

Guess it all really depends on your wash routine as well?

That sux. Those are awfully expensive. I think it's just the nature of any blend print like that though. We did fitteds for a very short while and it was one of the things that bugged me the most. I found out from a wahm that there are a few things you can do to keep them nice longer, don't use vinegar or baking soda in the wash, do warm water only, not hot and hang to dry instead of the dryer to keep them from fading and pilling. You can shave the pills off with a sweater shaver, I did it on some of my knit pocket dipes. Still a bummer tho.

good tip on the vinegar. I was using it for a while because I thought it was better too but I forgot for a couple of cycles and my dipes and the kids tushy seem to like the no vinegar wash routine better

ETA:Liz your siggy cracks me up.

I have a few that faded and a few that still look like new. I think it's just which print too. I'm going to run these into the ground forget about selling them after my dd is done the next LO will get her chance with them too so I'm not too worried about it.

That's just what happens with many print dipes -- when you think about it, the print fabrics are really not designed to be treated like we treat our dipes -- all those washes on hot and the like.

But after 3 washes? Seriously? I never use additives (neither vinegar nor baking soda), and I dry on medium heat... could that be why? I hang dry my pockets, but I figured it would take days to dry those fitteds.
