Re: Antibiotics and CDing

Well, his highest fever was 101.5 and he's just under 4 months. I think that's why the doc was concered. As for diet, he's EBF, so does that mean I should cut out diary in -MY- diet for a few days?

Thanks everyone for the advice!

I voted before I read your entire post.....I cange my mind I voted prefolds and covers but then read you only have 6...that wont do with diarrhea. I'd just go with sposies so I could slather on diaper cream with every change. Also put your little one on acidophilous asap to help with the diarrhea.

No vote. Just a Hope he's doing better soon. Antibiotics always cause problems for William cloth diapers or not. Yeast infections are awful. Avoid at all costs.

Re: Antibiotics and CDing

I voted PFs and covers, mostly because I can see washing those in super hot water with some GSE and TTO. Sun them if you get stains, dry on high otherwise. Fortunatly we haven't needed abx for a LONG time, but if it were an ear infection I would definatly talk to my dr about other treatments. My friend's DD is almost 8 mos and she is going to need tubes now. She's had an ongoing battle with ear infections and illnesses but because even after 2 rounds of abx and abx injections she finally got the infection gone but her ears still have fluid. I also read in Parenting recently that they're holding back on abx now on ear infections. Its not to say they're not required in some cases. My friend's dd also had a horrible rash from the abx. Also look into probiotics, I've seen some immune booster stuff at Whole Foods for babies and children. GL!

Re: Antibiotics and CDing

Didn't read all the replies yet but if it helps, I'm using FBs (new to CDing so this is all FWIW) and my DD is on laxatives for a bowel obstruction. Hers are GROSS but no stains yet! woo hoo! Maybe I'm just lucky so far??? LOL

Re: Antibiotics and CDing

My son has an immune deficiency and is frequently on antibiotics. He's just come home after several days of IV abx and is on 2 oral abx again. We use our cloth diapers all the time. You can line with a fleece scrap if you want, but we haven't had staining issues. They poop more often, but its not more likely to stain or anything.
