After 6 weeks of DS' horrible YI.... (coverless topic)

it finally seems to be getting better. (knock Knock knock) The difference is I have been using fitteds coverless! Asher is 15 mos old and has been just suffering. His poor penis has had the pimple type spots get so raw they have bled. He gets 1-2 baths a day and if we are home, I have been using fitteds without a cover. Really this experience has me feeling the love once again for fitteds.

This initself can be addictive... oh no.....

Awww, poor baby! I'm glad it's getting better, though. Macalaigh's had the same raw pimply problem on her girl parts and I was already using coverless fitteds, so I went back to coverless prefolds. Seems to help but dang this heat! I can't wait till Fall!

Poor Asher!! I hate it when they don't feel good. I'm so glad the fitteds are working for you. I have to keep William dry or he get's rash really easily.... I think it will improve after the hot weather leaves us.

Hugs Mom!

Get some raw silk liners. It will help clear that up in no time. Coverless is good, we do that as often as possible. Do you use wool covers, I've found those make a difference for us.

No to wool. I am not sure that most people realize strict vegans don't use silk or wool. So that isn't an option for us. But, I have 3 snap-ez fleece pockets on the way for nights, which should offer better air flow than pul.... I just am soooo feeling the love for my ole fitteds, and can see why people are so addicted to coverless diapering. My mom even took Asher to the park the other day in a fitted and a t-shirt! She brought a spare just incase he wet through, but it was sooo hot and in the hour they were there didn't need a change.

I'm excited to put these in my line up again. I have always used them, but not back to back. Infact I have been doing laundry when I'm on my last one! I have barely touched a pocket since Thursday (today is Sunday).

Which fitteds do you use? What do you like about them? I didn't know that about Vegans. Very interesting. - S

Duh! I totally didn't read your name! Just posted the info. We used to be vegan, so I should have realized that. Fleece is breathable, and will work. We just have a hard time with synthetic fabric, makes dd more rashy.

I have 6 puddlecatchers (2 night time ones(cotton fleece) and 4 terry cotton ones) and one KL. You can't buy Puddlecatchers any more. They were still being made when I bought them 3 years ago. I love the softness, 100%cotton factor and that they have a snap in doubler. They are like an AIO minus the waterproffness. So for short periods you can have them in all cotton, and if you change them when beginning to be damp you don't need a cover (unless you can't change often enough). And since at night I need the waterproofness, I just use a hemp doubler with a fitted and a cover. BTW, a night time fitted (Puddlecatcher) with a snap in doubler can make it a two hour nap for us...

William is a super soaker, so I am not sure if he could make it for a 2 hour nap, but I think you told me that he can save up his pee for a long time, so he stays dry a long time and then all of a sudden he pees fast. I'm guessing cotton terry absorbs well in that situation and if you were on top of things you could change him really fast. This gives you a few day time hours coverless when you are home and he doesn't need to be waterproof...

Kissaluvs have never been my favorite unless we are talking about the zeros (newborn size), but in this situation they have worked fine. They have cute colors and I am thinking of getting a few more unless there is another brand I should try... Oh no...... people are always raving about different ones and I hae not paid that much attention since we have our pockets and prefolds and covers and enough fitteds, but I can see doing fitteds and some fleece pants this winter around the house!!!

Maybe I should be getting away from PUL... Levi is gonna have pul in his trainers, but maybe with Asher I should focus on fleece and fitteds?

Anyway, why do you ask? What fitteds do you have Sarah?

Does your DD get rashy when she has a cotton fitted on and then a fleece cover on top of that? Or is it when the fleece is touching her skin in lets say a fleece pocket, or a pul pocket which has microfleece against the skin? Cause If she is in a fitted and you change her often, would the fleece cover affect her? Just curious.
