how much to charge

my daughters great grandmother is here from peru. she is an amazing knitter and can do a whole outfit for an adult in one day. i want her to knit some longies soakers and other stuff so i can sell them and she can have her money. she grew up knitting in the ande mountains...i mean she is good. im going to buy some alpaca for her to work with. also, what other wool should i get. and how much is the average price to charge for hand knit soakers/longies?

Depends on the wool. I know most wahm who knit/crochet don't make much money off them

OH, WOW!! id go look at the prices off hyena cart and charge starting basing off what you see as average... most wahms make almost nothing because of the time, but if shes fast, and all, shell make more off it.. if you have one, they have alpaca, etc at ac moores, its a craft store. if not, theres lots of places online to buy it, what wer you looking for, im sure someone here can help you in that dept!

umm, www.hyenacart.com/llamajamas merino wool that they use for longies is nice, and they have alpaca too, ive never felt that though.

I charge around 35.00-40.00 for a medium pair of longies knit with your yarn. So if you were purchasing the yarn, you should pay her at least that amount. Knitters don't make a lot for all their time, that's a fact!!!
