How could you make them on a machine? A sewing/serger machine? I cannot picture it.

Some longies are made on "knitting machines." Some of those machines clip onto your table and you just move a shuttle back and forth (like weaving) to make the knitted fabric. Then you seam the pieces together. I've heard Kozys might be made this way? There's also an Ebay seller I know of who knits longies this way, so that the cost is super-reasonable. It cuts the labor down by a ton, but I think hand-knits are so much better because they're so special

cranky's are hand knit

and is it possible what you seeing are increases? the first time i saw increases i thought it was a dropped stitch also. i can take a pic of an increase on a pair of mine if you want.

I would love to see a picture. Dropped stitch wouldruin the whle item! A twisted stitch wouldn't (shouldn't) cause a hole. A slipped stitch would definetly cause alot of problems! Have they been washed yet? I'm sorry you are having so many problems!

I wasn't going to add pics, but these where my original pants before they where reknit. I guess I bought cheap yarn
