I liked my flannel/woven ones. (Flannel on one side/quilting cotton on the other) DH liked single layer flannel.

Any fabric store has flannel... Joanns, walmart, Hobby Lobby etc

If you want something less "baby" for Unpapertowels .. http://www.connectingthreads.com/fab...ml?startRow=25

**Note.. They WILL get stained. Do not use a very light color print (like white background) or a solid color. You will be much happier with print to hide stains.

Re: Best fabric for wipes? What's your fave?

I like flannel/flannel, flannel/obv, flannel/terry... pretty much one side of flannel with another layer added to it. I do NOT like fleece on my wipes. Somebody (FuzziBunz?) used to make these "wonder wipes" with one side flannel and one side synthetic fleece. I hated them. Also, I will say that I like having a variety. Sometimes I feel like certain fabrics do better for different jobs.

I also used old flannel blankets that we no longer needed. I am looking to make two ply this next time.

So flannel, not fleece? Can you just take squares of fleece fabric, or do you have to sew two layers together for more absorption?

You don't need absorption with wipes.

I personally don't like fleece because it doesn't "grip" when cleaning.

My favorite is flannel on one side and terry on the other. I like to use old baby towels for the terry - it's thinner than a towel.
