Dumb question - stinky dipes?

Ok, I see all of these conversations about stinky dipes, but I'm a little unclear about something.

When you guys complain about dipes stinking, do you mean they stink when they:

A) Come out of the wash clean and dry
B) Get a little bit of pee in them (i.e. while still on baby)
C) Are saturated with pee (i.e. first change of AM)
D) Sit in the diaper pail
E) Something else?

Some of my used FB dipes smell a bit when they are C&D above, and I'm wondering if that's normal, or if I should strip them. My PFs, which are brand new unbleached CPFs don't seem to stink at all. Ever.

lol, i'm one of the people who has been having stink issues lately, and boy am i glad i beat it! anyways, for me, my diapers always smelled just fine out of the wash and when they were dry, but when my son would pee in them it unleashed this really odd odor. i was able to get rid of it totally by soaking my inserts in oxyclean. not one stinky dipe all day. i think the thick MF inserts can just start to hold in the smell after a while. if your FB are smelling a bit odd out of the wash, it couldn't hurt to try to strip them.

Nope, my FB smell fine out the wash, and when DS pees. It's only sitting in the pail that they really seem to stink. I'm just wondering if that's normal.

My stinky ones smelled like ammonia after ds would pee (a lot) in them - but I think it was also causing irritation so it needed to be fixed.
