Re: in early labor (pretty sure of it LOL)

UGH still here contracting....still more intense than last night but still not getting any closer together. pressure everywhere down low still.....my muscles from the bottom of my rib cage to the mids of my thighs are killing me. but i guess it's all for a good reason hehe. this is the first time i've experienced this stage of labor really...my sister said it can go on for like 2 or 3 days (i REALLY REALLY hope things get moving good faster than that! i'm used to quick stuff!). she said she thinks i'm probably thinning.
this is definately not fun though...i've had a few ctx's that have almost had me in tears and i'm not really used to that either. normally for me like the last 10 minutes are painful and then it's time to push so i don't even know what to do with this LOL. i'm trying to stay perky...but i'm feeling awfully whiney to be honest. i just really wish things would get moving.

Re: in early labor (pretty sure of it LOL)

Keep drinking plenty of water (dehydration can cause contractions) and try to rest and relax as much as possible. I'm right here w/ ya girl. I've been dilated to 3 for over a week now w/ plenty of contractions that will come consistent for a few hours then slack off.

A book that i've been reading has talked about the mind/body relationship during labor. If you get worried or scared or too anxious you can actually cause your body to stall in labor or even go in reverse. So the more you can relax and let your body do it's thing, the more progress you will make.
(My due date is tomorrow and i have an appointment today so our kiddos may have the same bday!)

hmmmmm never thought about it that way....so relax it is then! thanks mama! i am very anxious about it, esp since it's taking so long..i'm used to quick and done with (but i was induced w/my first two) so this is new to me and getting me frustrated. maybe i'll take a nice long bath when my ds's lay down for a nap!
thanks las!!!

a bath is a good idea! Definitely try to relax. Maybe he's in a different position (for now) than your other two, so you're feeling things a little differently. I hope things start moving quickly for you!
