Huh...not sure what I think of this parenting "tool"...

This was listed as a product on my expecting board and I just don't know what to think.

On one hand when my DD was a newborn I had a pad of paper and pencil and I wrote down each feeding time, diaper change and which side I nursed. Partly because I am anal, but also to keep track of how many times a day she was wet and poopy and also because with my lack of sleep I never remembered which side I had nursed on. It also helped Dh to knwo what had been done when. After a while I didn't need the pad anymore and it all fell into place.

This gadget would take care of that except for showing how many pee/ppops in a day, but it just seems so high tech and sort of impersonal to me.
What do you think?

This may sound silly but when it comes to a lot of aspects of my life I always try to think "what did they do 1000 years ago." I figure if they could live and survive then without it I can do the same now.

I think if you are into that, then it's cool. I am more of a go with the flow kind of person.

I'm also a go with the flow person. I didn't write down/keep track of feedings, changes, etc.

I could see it being helpful with high order multiples. But with just 1 or 2 it may be more of a PITB to keep up with than it is useful.

It is very neat though

I too think it would be helpful to a mom of multiples or a sick baby where you had to keep track of what they are doing.

I personally haven't ever written anything down and just 'went with the flow' too. I did forget some things, so maybe I should have been writing things down.

It is a cute idea, but I agree that it is sorta too 'much' if you kwim?

I go with the flow myself, but I thought it would be convenient for babysitters. They wouldn't have to worry about keeping track of anything.

Re: Huh...not sure what I think of this parenting "tool"...

The geek in me is definitely into gadgets of all sorts.

Not that any of them are necessary... You wouldn't believe the crap that I've bought just because "hey, that's cool". I won't be scheduling things so much with Baby, such as when to change diaper or feed (by the minute?). It seems to me like it'd be handy to have something that said "Oh we ate at 9:47" though. Definitely not a need, at all though.

But it's still kinda neat. I wonder how much it is.
