Natural way to treat possible staph infection??`Please help!

DD got a sore on the edge of her nostril from having a cold and now she has a few small places that look like pimples on her cheek, beside her nose and one in her bottom eyelashes. I called the ped and he said it was probably a topical staph infection. He called in a super strong antibiotic cream for us to put on it, but I would really like to use something natural, if possible. I know many of you mamas are very educated in natural cures. Anyone have suggestions?
TIA!

I don't know if I'd fool around with staff, that can become very serious. Personally I'd use the prescription and be safe! Hope all is better soon mama!

Hmmmmmmmm, I would try TTO on the sores (not the one by the eye though) and take GSE (grapefruit seed extract) internally, several times a day. That takes care of infections systematically. The best way to disguise and dilute it is to mix a few drops into orange juice several times a day, like prescription anti-biotics

Hope all goes well!

I agree with the PP. I'm all for natural cures, but staph infections can be scary and can get really dangerous if they aren't treated properly. If it were me, I'd use the script!!

Good luck whatever you decide to do!

Yeah, my dc's both had impetigo this past week. It spread FAST. I opted for the antibiotics because MRSA has been so common recently.

Re: Natural way to treat possible staff infection??`Please help!

PLEASE PLEASE do NOT mess around with a staph infection. We were stationed at great lakes naval base. My 2nd son Patrick was 5 month old he got a little pimple on his bum and it got infected. he got a staph infection. He ran a 107 fever. It got into his blood stream and they basically told us we were lucky that we came in when we did or he might have died! They sent us to the Wisconsin childrens hospital and he was admitted right away. we were there for 1 week and he was on an antiobiotic drip through IV. That was not working and He eventually Had to go into surgery and have the area that was infected drained. that was half his bum cheek. After 1 month he was fine. We are very LUCKY!! do not mess around with this. I am all for the whole natural living but there are some things that need actual medical attention and this is one of them.

my son was also hospitalized for staph and then on antibiotics for THREE WEEKS after he finally came home. They can swab the wound to find out for sure what it is.

after re-reading this thread, I would get it tested for staph infection before taking anything and if it's not staph then go with something natural and take care of it at home but if so, it's wise to take the strong stuff the doc advises.
