Acrylic vs Wool

Not as a true pair of longies but for a 4yo girl that is SOOOO jealous of her brothers gorgeous wool longies.

Would the acrylic be breathable like the wool or would she get really hot in them? I originally wanted to have some Fishermans wool yarn dyed for her... and then find someone to make the longies - but she saw some really pretty acrylic yarn in a pink/purple colorway that she liked.

She I go with the acrylic or just stick with the original plan of Fishermans Dyed?

Can you tell I'm drinking some coffee.... I've got a lot to say today!

imo:
wool sweaters are hotter than acrylic ones soooooo
i think acrylic would be nicer for indoors and wool for outdoors in the winter

If it is an 8oz skien, you will probably need two. Or 1 and half...but since you can't cut it in half at the store..you should get two

Acrylic would be washable too. Another plus.

Re: Acrylic vs Wool

Hmm.... it was Red Heart Acrylic - it looked like a double skein.... I think it said Value Pack on it - it was huge. So that would be enough for 4yo... she's pretty tall.

Re: Acrylic vs Wool

It depends on the yardage that is how I determine what I need.

Re: Acrylic vs Wool

I always prefer natural fibres like wool, cotton, or even alapaca on my little ones- breathes better- just personal preference but I find acrylic kinda "squeaky" LOL

Re: Acrylic vs Wool

I'm going with my original idea of the Fisherman's Wool... so - one skein of that is 8oz (465 yards). 2 of those?
