Deceptively Delicious

So I got this book and The Sneaky Chef book for Chrsitmas from my mom to try and "healthify" some stuff for my picky toddler. Last night I tried the Meatball Soup - that was yummy and no one suspected the veggies in it. On the other hand, the chocolate brownies with "hidden" spinach were, IMHO, disgusting! I took a taste and I couldn't even give them to the family.

Has anyone else tried some of these recipes? Which do you like? I think I'm going to try the PB&J muffins today...

Love the Tuna Salad recipe! My whole family enjoyed it.
I have used the cauliflower puree in place of part of the mayonnaise in egg salad, too. It is such an awesome idea! I expect the Chicken Salad recipe will be just as yummy.

Now I keep looking for ways to put fruit/vege purees in all our food.
I just replaced about 1/4 cup milk with prunes (baby food) in waffle batter. I will add more next time, I couldn't really taste it. It makes them sweeter so you don't even need syrup.

I plan on making the Chocolate Chip Muffins (with prunes) today.

The 1st mac & cheese is better, the pancakes are very good, just make sure that you make them the size indicated, the coucous is yummy as well.

Make sure that the brownies are completely cool before you eat them. They are really good, but if they are hot, you can taste the spinach in them. I am super picky and my friend made some for me and I loved them!

I tried the chocolate pudding with avocado. It was too chocolatey for my liking but you couldn't taste the avocado.

I made the PBJ muffins. OMG - they're delicious and DS flipped over them. They will be a toddler favorite, for sure! We're having the mac and cheese tomorrow night and I'm planning on doing the first one with the squash - the one with chick peas looks a little weird.

sounds like a book i need to get. my daughter is a pickey eater. I try hiding food her in chicken nuggets..Hah, she knows. She may even be too smart to know that stuff is hidden inside those recipes. But maybe I check out the book anyways.

The puffy egg cups are a new breakfast favorite at our house and I am planning to try the meatball soup and meatloaf this week!
