What do you make with cubed steak?

DH's grandma got us some cubed steak and I have absolutely no idea what I would use it for. Any idea? TIA

I usually make the cubed steak (dip it in milk then in flour and fry) and then gravy from the oil left over. Butter and herb mashed potatoes, corn, and green bean casserole and cornbread.

Re: What do you make with cubed steak?

the only thing I know how to make with it is chicken fried steak. If its not tenderized you have the beat the heck outta it with a tenderizer hammer thingy and then dip in beaten eggs, and then dip is crushed saltines and fry with whatever seasoning you like. I use seasoning salt. We make it with mashed pototoes and gravy and biscuits.

I sauté a TON of green and red peppers and mushrooms with the cubed stakes. I use real butter but olive oil works good too. along with fresh garlic and onion. I then make up a some mashed potato's. and cornbread. I serve the steaks and veggies on tops of the mashed potato's. YUMMY The steaks come out very tender

Re: What do you make with cubed steak?

i don't know what it is called but here goes...
1-flour steak and fry in shallow pan with a little olive oil
2-move steak too 13x9 baking dish
3-mix a half cup flour with the left over oil and crispies, stir in a can of cream of mushroom & garlic. mix some milk too a good consistancy for gravy.
4-poor mix over steaks and bake for 30-45 min.
make mashed potatos and green beans for a side. this is soooo yummy!!
we also love garlic toast with this...

Re: What do you make with cubed steak?

my recipe is sort of like the pp but I take and put them in a flour, salt and pepper mix. Brown in a skillet then either put in a 9X13 or crockpot. Mix up 1 can cream of mushroom soup, beefy onion soup mix, milk and a little water until it is like a runny gravy. Pour over the steaks and let cook in oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour or crockpot for 4-6 hours on low. I serve over mashed potatoes or with it and green beans or green bean casserole and bread and butter.

Re: What do you make with cubed steak?

Here's a CrockPot Idea:

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Comfort...ks/Detail.aspx

Actually the link says oven, but I always just throw it in my crock pot all day...the cube steaks actually fall apart if they're in there for 8-10 hours on low. It comes out much like stroganof, so I usually make noodles to go with it!
