Do I need cover for these too or these work as PUL pockets?

They shouldn't need a cover. What brand are you using?

The should work just the same, the big name people use a water proof fleece and most work at homes do too. The fleece when compressed can sweat a little depending on what weight it is, but I still use them on my 6 month old who sits or lays down all day and it doest bother me.
