POLL: What kind of birth/births did you have?

I'm curious in this community what type of birth/births you've had.

DH and I went to Bradley Method Classes and had a natural, unmedicated birth with both boys. They were both born in a hospital, though I would have LOVED to have a homebirth. DH didn't feel comfortable with that and still doesn't with number 3.

Did your birth go differently than you had planned? (an emergency C-section, had baby in the car, planned to use pain medication, but didn't, etc.)

Do you wish you would have done things differently in any situation? Why?

You can choose multiple options of course for different births.

for both of mine- we were at hospital. i had epidurals and poticin and then afterwards had the strong tylenol.. both were vaginal deliveries- dd was 45 minutes and ds was 5 minutes of pushing.

I was very lucky, with Emily there were no complications. My water broke at 1AM, contractions started at 2:30AM, went to the hospital at 7AM and she was born after 10 minutes of pushing at 12:10PM. I didn't have to have any drugs at all, which was what I wanted.

I had Callie at a freestanding birth center - the Birth Center at Bryn Mawr. It was amazing and I always felt safe knowing that if the worst of the worst started to happen, I was across the street from a hospital! I'm a BIG FAN of birth centers!!

Midwife assisted with my first two, UC with my third, going UC with the upcoming baby too. I love birthing at home.

my 1st was an emergency c-section at 31 wks, my 2nd was a repeat c-section b/c my Dr was a butt and changed his mind on a VBAC, my 3rd was a homebirth w/ a midwife.

I attempted to have an unmedicated, midwife assisted water birth at a free-standing birth center. However, after 56 hours of labor, I needed to transfer to the hospital for an emergency c-section.

DS was a planned c-section (due to birth defect) that turned into emergency 6 weeks early after labor was stopped and his heart kept stopping.

DD was a planned 2nd c-section that turned emergency 3 weeks early when I started bleeding heavily and went into labor (they did an amnio and her lungs were mature and @ 37 weeks they didn't want to give me the drugs to stop labor)

If our dreams ever come true and we get a #3 we want a natural midwife assisted waterbirth at a freestanding birthing center (or maybe a homebirth since we about to buy our 1st house).
