Re: UBIPF's.... How do you know they are ready to use?

I got UBIPF's for the first time a couple weeks ago. I boiled a giant pot of water, added a couple squirts of Dawn, and added the diapers. I left them in there for almost an hour, then put them immediately into the washing machine on a hot cycle. Dried them on hot in the dryer, and they were ready to go. Maybe the boiling did what several washes would have done? Anyhow, it worked fine, and the dipes absorbed liquid right away, with no repelling. Might be something to at least try. If it doesn't work, then you can always do more washes.

Re: UBIPF's.... How do you know they are ready to use?

I just wanted to add that while I have done my share of prepping prefolds, the last time I ordered them I paid an extra $5 (for a dozen) and had them washed for me that way when they showed up they were ready to use. I got them at http://www.mtdiaperstore.com/product...products_id=34. IMO it was worth the extra $$. Just thought I would throw that out there. There are some other places that will do it for you as well.

Re: UBIPF's.... How do you know they are ready to use?

Hmm my understanding was that to prep they need to be dried on hot in the dryer, not on a line? I know I've seen someone else comment on that b/c someone posted a pic of her pf on a line while she was prepping.

I think I did mine 3 times and then just started to use them and they have def. increased in absorbency. We love em!

Re: UBIPF's.... How do you know they are ready to use?

Well... they went through 3 hot washes, into a hot dryer... then I washed in hot 2 more times and added Dawn to the wash... they are in the hot dryer again!

I bought 3 doz of mine from a co-op and 1 came from Abby's Lane with a SB AIO.

I'm excited to try them! Going to see if I can master pinning them - we'll see how that goes LOL!
