Boo hoo! She's finished

DD will be one in a month. And she's finished. I'm kinda bummed, but relieved on the other hand.

She was popping on and off since 7 months of age. My goodness - she is a curious little thing. The nursings went down to three day at about 10 months and then we went on vacation. That sealed the deal. She wanted nothing to do with the breast. On and off. On and off.

I'm a little bummed because we are having no more children. I'm still leaking but it was such a gradual thing, that I'm ok. My goal was one year and if she went longer, I was for it!

I am happy on the other hand because I have been fighting weight loss. I am not one who losses while breastfeeding (is there such a thing?) and I now can take a natural appetite suppresant with the fear of passing it along to her.

It was a good 10 1/2 month ride. Wish it were longer. I guess it time to move on.

Congrats for making it so long! It is however very rare for a baby to wean so early. Have you thought about reducing her solids, pacifiers, etc? A lot of babies will go back to nursing.

Congrats on making it that long, some women stop after 6 weeks. I hope that my youngest dd can make it till a year or longer!

She doesn't use a pacifiers, so that's out. We tried during that time to reduce foods. She just went hungry. I think the 118 degree weather had a lot to do with it.

I'm ok with it. I'm working more and it is easier. Almost is year is pretty darn good, considering I meet a lot of women who stop earlier. If I were a true SAHM, I might have tried a bit harder to keep her there!

My daughter self weaned at 6 months, we did both breast and pumped for bottles, and she always prefered her bottle, by the time she was 6 months she was done with me. I was ready too though. Great job breastfeeding for as long as you did!

Congrats on making it that long! I know how you feel. Alex weaned at 13 months. I was both sad and relieved at the same time.

CONGRATS to her for making an independent decision! What an advanced baby!

My 9.5 DD is still prefering Mamamilk to solids. I will go with it a while longer, but have to admit a little bit of envy for you! Ah ... not to have to pump!
